Here We Go Again

We're moving...For reals

So, everything is lining up. We just signed off our condo yesterday and will be moving tomorrow morning. Our new home is done minus a few little things the super needs to work on. We passed underwriting, so we are on our way to closing on this new home on July 5th. We are really excited.
This move is bittersweet. I am sad to leave our condo and the memories and work we put into it, but excited for our new home and the memories and work we will put into it. I am excited for more space, a washer and dryer (no sharing, having my detergent stolen, or losing quarters to these things), a backyard for Sydney to play in, a garage for Josh to work in, and a bigger kitchen (I am excited to learn how to cook). We are lucky. Lots of exciting things. Well, I better get back to packing.

Here's a photo of Sydney trying out the sliding door in our new house.

Countdown

So, we had our walk through of our house yesterday. It felt so much more real. Maybe we will get this house after all. Both Josh and I were so giddy yesterday. I spent several last night looking up paint colors and trying to coordinate everything. I still am not certain on anything yet. Things are progressing with the sale of our condo. I want to find out if things are solid by the end of this week though. I am not going to pack everything up only to find out we aren't moving. If this loan falls through we will sure be dissapointed and man that would be some bad luck. Anyway, we are hopeful and very excited. There are some good changes coming ahead.

Last week I took Sydney to the doctor because she has had this cough for several weeks and she needed a check up anyway. Luckily she didn't need shots, but the way she acted there, you'd have thought she got shots. I knew I was in trouble when the nurse asked me to lay her down on the bed so he could take her measurements and she flipped out. The other nurse came in and she was so nice and Sydney was so terrified of her. She cried and wouldn't hold still the whole time. So, we bought Sydney a doctor's kit to get her used to the tools. Hopefully that will alleviate some of her fears of the doctor. I'm pretty sure this fear stemmed from the last appointment when she got 5 shots. That was awful.

I have been playing in Photoshop with some photos of Sydney. She sure is a sweetie lately. Here are some cute ones of her and her daddy. She loves being outside, she's defintely not like her mommy in that respect. We got this bubble blower and she loves it, so do the dogs. While we were at Josh's parent's house, we showed Sydney Shauna's turtles and she loved them. She kept wanting to touch them. I was afraid she'd fall and crush them, but she was pretty careful. She is definitely an animal lover too.

I can't believe how old she is getting. And smart too. I will probably start working on teaching her the ABC's. She is starting to learn some numbers and she knows several colors as well. Little smartie. Josh thinks we should teach the Presidents. :) I don't even know all of the presidents. :0 She also has some cute quirks. She crosses her legs a lot, expecially when she's drinking her bottle. She just started really getting into coloring. She found a lid to a box and colored the life out of it. She also likes to hold our hands. Whenever we go in the car she has to hold both of our hands, regardless if we are driving or not. She is still pretty shy around strangers, but occassionally she will forget about being shy and become totally goofy around people. She warms up to her grandparents pretty quickly. She especially loves her Uncle Devin and I think he really likes her. She sure is a special kid. I love her more and more.

I like this shot. It looks like they are carrying on a conversation.

Sydney loves giving kisses.

Classic belly laugh. I can hear her laughing just by looking at this photo.

Ball! Ball! Ball! She is obsessed.

Here's the little guy. Sydney's newest pet.

I was kind of nervous the turtle would try and bite her finger, but he didn't. He really like Sydney.

Welcome

So, Marie (my sister) and Brian welcomed their new baby boy on Sunday, June 10th.

He was 8 lbs 8 oz and 22 inches long.
His name is Aiden (not sure how to spell it yet).
He looks like Marie.
He looks so small compared to Sydney.
He is a quiet baby.
He is the cutest baby I have seen for a long time.

Congratulations.

Sydney was not happy to see mommy holding another baby. Let me just say that makes me sad, but I am sure she will be fine WHEN I have another one.

Josh, can I get this?

Love Keith Urban

So, if Josh sees this post he will totally be jealous, but we just went to a Keith Urban concert last night and it was so good. It is definitely one of the top favorite concerts I've been to. He is such a good singer and I like when they sing how they sound on their cds. There's nothing worse than having a favorite artist and then hearing them in real life and they suck. He put on a great show. He played every song I wanted him to. It was definitely a toe tappin, feet stompin, hand clappin show. He seems like a nice guy and very down to earth. My favorite part was after they exited and everyone was just screaming for him to come back on stage and when he did he got all choked up. He must have been so overwhelmed.

Josh and I had a great time.

Martha Stewart

I wanted to post this photo as proof that Sydney is not a perfect angel. Although she comes close. This happened a few weeks ago. I had just purchased this brand new adorable outfit and was planning on getting portraits done of Sydney wearing it, but I decided to let her wear it this particular day. She looked sooooo cute. Well, I was off doing something and realized that Sydney was being very quiet so I went looking for her and found her sitting on a dining room chair with a tube of my lipstick she had pulled from my purse. She had it all over! It was smeared all over her clothes her hands, the table, and chair. I was so mad and I think Sydney knew she was in trouble as she started to cry too. I did find another pair of pants, but the shirt was not replacable. I'm over it now, but at the time I was pretty upset. :)

I also forgot to write about last Sunday. We decided to let Sydney go to nursery by herself. We have been taking her for part of it for the last month or so and she loves it. Now when we go to church she points to the door of nursery knowing that's where the toys are. So, she was old enough last week to go and Josh dropped her off. We checked through the peephole a couple of times to see how she was doing. One time we checked she was off playing with a hammer toy. The next time I checked they were having singing time and I could see little Sydney sitting in the chair. She wasn't singing, but I saw her checking out the kids that were. The leaders said she had done really well, so I have hope she will like nursery. When I came to get her she saw me and came running to me with this worried look like she didn't think I'd come back for her. Hopefully she will like it next week. It was nice to go to the regular meetings for the first time in like four years. I felt kind of weird, but it was good. This is Sydney's first drawing she brought home. I can tell she didn't color one side of it, but I see some scribbles on the other side. Pretty cute. It's also funny to me that they put Cindy on her paper. They probably were calling her Cindy the whole time she was in there and she probably didn't have a clue who they were talking to.

So, I just discovered Martha Stewart's website and there are some REALLY good projects on there. I am actually thinking about subscribing to her magazine now. I really liked these two projects in particular, but not sure if I could figure them out since I am sewing challenged.

So, we just heard from our realtor that our builder will pay our closing costs which is really good news. Now we can accept a lower offer and we actually got in another offer today, so we will see if they will accept our counter and if they can close in two weeks! We'll see. We just have to close by the end of June and everything will be good. I drove by our house yesterday and they started laying down the tile. It looked pretty dark, but it was hard to see through the window. I'm sure it will be nice. So exciting!

So, it's been a while since I've posted last. We have been dealing with some dissapointing things lately and I haven't been in the mood to relive it through writing. Everything was going fine with our condo and the new build, I had everything all packed and 90% of it moved into storage or at my parent's house, we were all ready to sign off the condo and then we find out that the buyer's loan fell through. I couldn't believe it. I kept hoping it was all a big mistake and they mixed files or something, but alas it was true. So, our dreams of everything working out perfectly were dashed. Things aren't looking so good yet. We got an offer that day the loan fell through, but it was considerably low and even if we took it we couldn't afford to get the other house. So, we are trying to work with our builder to see if they can do anything for us and then we are hoping the right buyer comes along and wants to move in like in three weeks. It's a long shot, but I guess we need to have faith that things will work out for the best even if it means not getting this house. It's really sad because I actually started to get attached to it and was picking out paint colors and furniture, but I'll have to put a hold on that.

Josh has had the last couple of days off so we have been trying to make the best of them by getting out of the house. Yesterday we went to Rancho Sahuarita, way far away, just to look at model homes for fun. They had a huge water park and a bunch of smaller parks. We stopped by one park and they had some neet equipment. Sydney loved it. I actually went on a few slides myself. Any excuse to act like a kid again. It sure is getting hot here though. I am thankful for air conditioning. Later that day we went to Josh's parents and Josh and Sydney swam in the pool. I just bought a new swimsuit for her that was a little small even though it's a size 2T! She looked so cute though. I have tons of photos.

Today we decided to take Sydney to the zoo. It is small here, but I really like how it's laid out and there is ample shade, which is necessary for Tucson. Sydney seemed to have fun. She doesn't do so good in the mornings before her nap, so she gets a little grouchy, but luckily they sell popcorn at the zoo and that kept her good the rest of the time.

Well, hopefully we will get some good news soon about our home situation. Our new house is just about complete. They landscaped the front yard, so all they really have left it the flooring and the upper cabinets. Hopefully they still belong to us because I really love the cabinets.

1. This is one of the reasons I love Tucson. The incredible scenery and wildlife here.

2. This cactus was huge!
3. Look at that big girl.
4. So, this is her new thing. Sticking her tongue out.

5. I can't believe how old she looks in this photo and I swear I see some Josh in her.

6. Such a serious girl sometimes.
7. There's that tongue again.
8. Cute swimsuit, but only a one time summer deal.
9. Posing with some animals.
10. Protesting this whole animal photo thing.

11. There's that tongue again.

12, So, are my days of pushing Sydney in a stroller over?
13. Watching the giraffes.
14. Cute shot of her walking. Hard to believe she just started walking a month ago.

15. Looking for the polar bear or wishing she could go swimming.
